General Data Protection Regulations
by Janet Prescott - Friday, 11 May 2018, 8:30 AM

You may have come across information on these new regulations in the press - we need to make you aware  that the information we hold on you (name, email address, postal address from your payment to us) is used by our Accounts department, held securely and not shared with anyone else, except when you enter for examinations and we complete exam registration forms for the Awarding Body (RHS) which may require further information such as your postcode and date of birth to enable them to assign a unique candidate number.

The information we hold is for the purpose of contact about your course; this Moodle is a teaching classroom and  messages sent within it to all students are relevant to studying our courses. Posts about bursaries, jobs etc will not be sent automatically, so please keep an eye on the front page section if these interest you.

If you link your internal message address to your home email (as shown in your initial 'welcome' information) posts relating to your course will go to your home address. At any time, and particularly when you complete your studies and no longer want to hear from us, you can change your profile and remove this link to stop receiving these messages.  If you do not remember how to do this, you can contact me and I will delete your profile.

Our Data Protection Policy will be available here (under 'Policies') and on our main website. We would like to be able to let our students know about new courses as we develop them - online and at our centres -  and as the RHS develop new course opportunities. So we will be sending one more 'general' Moodle message about this shortly, giving you a link to follow if you'd like to 'opt in' and be sent our annual course list by email (or post).

This will be the only time we send you anything to do with 'marketing'!
