Jobs and career opportunities
Recently we've been asked by a number of current and former students if we can pass on information about jobs they are offering, because it's hard to recruit people with any horticultural knowledge and you are the people dedicating your time to RHS qualifications....
At BEST we are happy to do this - but you must make your own
judgement about what is on offer: we don't have knowledge of any
potential employer, we're just hoping to offer a service by
transmitting the information.
Tim Hallam has alerted us to another job opportunity with Idverde:
'The Warwick depot of idverde is looking for a gardener to take up a seasonal post starting in March. The ideal applicant will have a level 2 horticultural qualification (or will be working towards one) and a driving license....

Do we have any gardeners looking for work in the South Herefordshire
area? A horticultural colleague asks: Do you have anyone to work more of
less unsupervised around my area in South Herefordshire please? I’m
trying to help a local garden find someone and as good ‘professional’
gardeners are like hens teeth I’m spreading the net wide. They would
require 3-4 hours per week, less in Winter.
Please contact marion.stainton@btinternet.com if you are interested.
GreenArt Garden Design & Landscaping, based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire are recruiting people who are passionate about gardening - particularly
those who have are studying or have studied for a RHS Level 1 or 2

Are you interested in these roles? Here is a pdf of their advertisement, with contact details.
Our Level 3 student Tim Hallam says that the Warwick depot of idverde is looking for people who have a level 2

other things.

Kendall-Wilson on 07825 862249 or Max.Kendall-Wilson@idverde.co.uk.

Melanie Hawford, one of our students at Bampton, is moving into Hampshire and will have to give up working in this garden:
'A lady has a
really beautiful large house in the countryside with beautiful gardens
and she's a pleasure to work for and needs a self-employed gardener two days a week!
She already has a man to do very heavy work. She's in the process of developing another part of the garden with the

experience. If you are interested please contact Annabel@vnicoll.net '
Kim Daniel, who has been studying the Organic Certificate this year, is moving on from a part-time job at a nursery in Warwick and thought she would let other students know about the vacancy:
two of us on Judith’s course have got part-time jobs this year, in a garden centre and a nursery, which were not advertised widely – the garden centre had notices on-site and the nursery has a general comment on the website:
